When gardening and studying herbalism, Hibiscus Roselle (hibiscus sabdariffa) quickly became a hot weather Malvaceae plant I was mesmerized by.
The structure of the plant, familiar to okra (also a malvaceae), has such a beautiful pop of color and are such cheerful abundant stalks. The taste is sour and fruity like cranberry - such a treat just to snack on.
Iām still not sure how to completely articulate how I connect herbalism and my love for plants with clay. The obvious being the connection of earth and its fruits. But there is something so pleasing to my mind to replicate these special garden treasures. It feels reciprocal to honor these bits of magic out of the material they grow from.
